Uganda top local and international Chief Executive Officer (CEO) have warned government to stop interfering and mixing politics with business.
Some of these CEOs include Price Water Coopers boss Francis Kamulegye, KPMG Senior Partner Benson Ndungu, Deloitte’s George Opio and Citibank’s Chinedu Ikwudinma.
These have said businesses are normally disrupted by political events like election rallies and politic related rates.
Addressing a joint news conference ahead of the upcoming East African business summit, Kamulegeya said the number of political events should be limited to avoid such disruptions and cut down government expenditure.
The East African Business Summit is a meeting that brings together CEO’s of different companies to discuss issues affecting the integration process.
This year’s summit is to be held in the Rwandan capital Kigali in June.
