President Yoweri Museveni has confirmed to attend the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) elections due to take place on Friday.

The elections which were supposed to take place on Wednesday have been postponed to Friday because it is the day when President Museveni will be available.

The elections which will take place at Bombo Army Barracks will have former Intelligence Coordinator and representative of UPDF, General David Sejusa replaced.

UPDF spokesperson, Lt. Col. Paddy Ankunda has said on that day the President will also unveil a list of nominated officers that the men-in-uniform would select from to fill the vacant slot of the 10 UPDF representatives in the House.

“The list is with the President, and it will be made public at the hall where the voting will take place. It is official and the President has confirmed that he will attend the election function,” Ankunda said.
