The Parliament of Uganda will on Tuesday at 9:00am pay tribute to the late Sam Njuba, Forum for Democratic Change Chairman and Festo Higiro Semajege, the former deputy speaker of Buganda Lukiiko.
The bodies of the two politicians will lie in state on Tuesday for the members of Parliament to pay their last respect.
Njuba, 72, passed away on Friday at Nsambya Hospital after succumbing to liver and abdominal complications he had been battling for several months.
Well as the former MP for Rwemiyaga County, Semajege passed away on Friday due to cancer complications.
Parliament’s Public Relations Officer, Ms Hellen Kaweesa said Njuba’s body will be the first to arrive in the House and a special session will be held in his honour and then Semajege’s body will follow.
After Njuba’s special session in parliament, there will be a Public viewing at the party Headquarters in Najjanankumbi.
The former Kyadondo East MP, Constituent Assembly delegate and former Minister for Constitutional affairs in the NRM Government has been praised by several politicians and leaders for his role played in Ugandan politics.
