Pastor Imelda Namutebi Opens 15,000 Seater Church

Pastor Imelda Namutebi on Saturday opened a 15,000 seater Liberty Worship Center International Church in Lugala, a Kampala suburb.

President Yoweri Museveni officiated the opening of the church.

The newly opened church is reported to have cost over Shs6 billion and the construction took about 10 years to be complete.

The facility is seated on a 17-acre piece of land in Rubaga.

The Senior Pastor at the Church, Imelda Namutebi said the structure’s construction started 8 years ago and was achieved through donations from church goers.

Namutebi says emphasis will now shift to helping the believers improve their household incomes.

Speaking at the opening, Museveni urged all born again churches in Uganda to promote household incomes through encouraging fundraising drives amongst their followers.

Museveni also urged churches to use their influence and cause moral change amongst the youths, who make up the bulk of their followers.
