During the Buganda tourism Expo at Bulange Mengo, the Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayinga said the kingdom has started donating tractors to individuals from various parts of the kingdom in a protracted move to promote agro- tourism in the region.
This move is to complement current efforts which focus on developing cultural tourist attractions in the kingdom because it has more potential to not only boost generation of tourism, agriculture and food security.
This model creates model farms in each of its 18 counties where upcoming commercial farmers from across Uganda and East Africa can go to learn better farming techniques.
All this said during the first tractor donation by Cooper Motors to Esther Nalubowa a resident of Kibuye in Kampala by the Katikkiro.
This attracted many people to attend the closing session of the one week-long Buganda Tourism expo.
The different clan heads and county chiefs of the Buganda kingdom exhibited key features from their respective clans and counties.
