The Kabaka of Buganda King Ronald Muwend Mutebei together with the Nnabagereka Sylvia Nagginda yesterday officially opened this year’s annual Buganda Tourism Expo at Lubiri, Mengo palace gardens.
The Buganda expo was on of the activities to mark the Kabaka 20th coronation annivesary slated for Saturday at Lubiri in Mengo. Kabaka Ronald Mutebi II was crowned as the 36th King of Buganda.
The Kabaka planted a tree to replace the trees which were cut down during the rehabilitation of Kabakanjagala road a move aimed at restoring the beauty on that road. He planted the Candle nut tree, locally known as Kabakanjagala in the palace gardens.
There after the Kabaka proceeded to the Kabaka’s lake, where he flagged off the youth boat race as well as touring it.
After the briefly touring the lake, the Kabaka then presided over the opening of this year’s 5th annual Buganda Tourism Expo in Lubiri Mengo where he challenged his subjects to have pride in their culture, since it is one of the most admired worldwide.
